About

My name is Remus Zoica. I have been engaged in professional SEO services since 2006. First I worked in addition to a regular IT job developing my own projects and websites. I invested all my free time in trying to understand how search engines work. I was not particularly interested in short term tactics or ways to get money like most people who start in this field are. Instead, I was more interested in understanding the core concepts and the reasons why things work in SEO. In time, I got a better grasp of how search engines see webpages and started to apply my knowledge. Pretty soon I was earning more from my personal projects I was doing at home, after work hours, than at my old 8h/day IT job. Then I quit the 8h/day job and focused solely on SEO. I also did some consulting for some local businesses. In late 2008 I started working part time for 9Global, an online marketing company focused on global lead generation and customer acquisition.

Soon after that I had the opportunity to start working on PPC projects. I started focusing on Adwords and invested a lot of time in understanding how things work. Short after, I began working full time for 9Global and I am still working with them. I did a lot of experiments and I had a lot of questions; luckily we had the opportunity to work with some really talented and dedicated account managers from Google who helped answer some of my questions. Over time we encountered and solved a lot of big problems. I really enjoy working in a competitive environment and 9Global has offered me the chance to do that.

Challenges mean a lot to me. I enjoy the process of solving problems and I think this was a major stimulus to keep me motivated along the road. I try not to get attached to any particular mindset and I enjoy looking at problems from many perspectives. In my free time I like reading questions from people who struggle with PPC or SEO; they provide context and help me look at their problem from a different point of view. This helped me a lot in understanding how things work in both fields. In my free time I usually hang out in the Adwords Community or on Moz. If I see a good question, I will probably answer it. So feel free to ask me anything related to PPC or SEO, but be careful – as much as I like “good questions”, I will ignore those to which the answers can be found easily.

I decided to use this blog and gather here the most helpful stuff I publish on the web. Usually, in communities like Adwords or Moz, problems and solutions get buried deep and people in trouble can’t find an easy answer. That is why I think that – more than anything else – on this blog you will find a lot of solutions to PPC and SEO problems.

Also, from time to time, I will post interesting ideas about health, self-improvement, motivation, and relaxation. I will also post reviews for the latest books I’ve read and my opinions about the people I admire.
